Presidential Preference Primary
Overton County Primary

A Republican and Democratic Presidential Preference Primary, a Republican and Democratic Primary for Criminal Court Judge Part 2 of the 13th Judicial District, as well as an Overton County Republican and Democratic Primary will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 in all voting precincts.

The Republican Presidential Preference Primary will be for the Republican nomination for the office of President of the United States. It will also include those seeking to become Delegates, both at large and for the 6th Congressional District. The purpose of these Delegates will be to represent the Republican Party at their national convention.

The Democratic Presidential Preference Primary will be for the Democratic nomination for the office of President of the United States.

The Overton County Republican Primary will be held for the Republican nomination for the following offices:

  • Criminal Court Judge Part 2 of the 13th Judicial District
  • Highway Superintendent
  • Assessor of Property

The Overton County Democratic Primary will be held for the Democratic nomination for the following offices:

  • Criminal Court Judge Part 2 of the 13th Judicial District
  • Highway Superintendent
  • Assessor of Property

THE QUALIFYING DEADLINE FOR THE CANDIDATES IS THURSDAY DECEMBER 12, 2019 AT 12:00 NOON.
Candidates who intend to run as Independents on the August 6, 2020 ballot must also file their nominating petitions prior to 12:00 NOON on December 12, 2019. Those persons seeking the office of Highway Superintendent must also submit sufficient documentation to the Tennessee Highway Officials Certification Board for their approval. DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION TO THE TENNESSEE HIGHWAY OFFICIALS CERTIFICATION BOARD IS NOVEMBER 27, 2019.
Nominating petitions for these offices may be obtained from the Overton County Election Office. The Overton County Election Office is located at 312 West Broad Street, Suite 2, Livingston, TN 38570. Office hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 A.M. — 4:30 P.M. The last day to register to vote in the March 3, 2020 election is February 3, 2020.
